How éclateral’s o~pal advances community-first diagnostics
Diagnostic device specialist éclateral has been awarded the exceptional patient centric innovation award at World Health Expo (WHX) for its o~pal digital diagnostic device.
The o~pal platform is a low-cost, fully-quantitative, clinical-grade health and wellness test system delivering rapid results, for use in the home, and works by integrating electrical components into the chemical matrix of a conventional lateral flow test.
World Health Expo is the world’s largest network of healthcare events, with 15 international events held annually across the world.
Paul KoFerrigno, CEO and founder of éclateral, said: “We’re really proud to have won an award based around patient centricity because we spend so much time thinking about patients and users. Everything we do starts with the end user, and we’ve worked with focus groups and patient engagement groups to ensure the products we’re developing are reaching a genuine need.
“We’re really pleased the World Health Expo has recognised this in our work on the o~pal platform and beyond, and we can’t wait to continue with our patient centric approach as we move forward.”
Based in Bristol and founded in 2021, éclateral is developing the next generation of diagnostic tests for use in the home and in clinical settings.
Its mission is to make testing and diagnostics cheaper, faster and more accessible for all, relieving pressure on clinicians and healthcare. By increasing the scale and effectiveness of diagnostic testing, the business is working to address a key challenge identified in the UK Government’s 10-year Health Plan – shifting to a community first approach to healthcare and empowering patients to manage their own care more effectively.
